The highly popular Native Hawaiian Scholarship ʻAha (Fairs) connect Native Hawaiian students with financial aid to help them pay for college and technical programs. This presentation is for high school students, parents, teachers, adult students, enrolled college students, counselors, and anyone interested in finding out more about sources of financial aid available for Native Hawaiians including eligibility criteria and qualification requirements. Meet with scholarship providers from: Kamehameha Schools, Pauahi Foundation, Hawaiʻi Community Foundation, Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship, and Alu Like. The Native Hawaiian Scholarship ʻAha series is presented by the Native Hawaiian Education Association and co-sponsored by the University of Hawaiʻi, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Kamehameha Schools, Pacific Financial Aid Association, UH Maui College Educational Opportunity Center, and the Native Hawaiian Education Association.

He Ipu Ka‘eo was created to direct you to valuable resources available to Native Hawaiian students seeking post-secondary education; both college and career training programs. See below for information on scholarships, financial aid resources, and student support services.
The following scholarships are administered by the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation. Visit Hawaiʻi Community Foundation Scholarship Manager for details about each fund and specific requirements.
For college juniors, seniors or graduate students of Hawaiian ancestry.
For Maui County residents in recovery from a mental health, behavioral or psychological disability, who are pursuing a traditional or vocational education program.
For women of Hawaiian ancestry pursuing a major in one of the following fields: health, science or education (includes counseling & social work).
For students who are residents of Kaua‘i or Ni‘ihau Island. Preference given to current Ni‘ihau residents or Kaua‘i residents who are one or two generations removed from Ni‘ihau Island and to students who are proficient or fluent in the Hawaiian language.
For students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with a preference for women of Hawaiian ancestry that identify as LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and/or transgender) and have participated in community service, club and/or high school athletics.
For Native Hawaiian students that were born and currently reside on the island of Hawai‘i.
For Pacific Islander students, including Hawaiians, who have completed at least one year of college, “stopped out” for at least one year, and are now returning to actively pursue a college degree.

Preference given to Hawaiian students that have done community service or volunteer work, as well as students in pursuit of degrees in Hawaiian language, studies and culture, Journalism or Education.
